Susan D. Rose has written extensively on the growth of and impact of the evangelical movement both in the United States, and in Guatemala and the Philippines. Her research examines the interplay among religion, fundamentalisms, gender, violence, and the human rights of women. She has helped develop the Mosaic program at Dickinson College which engages students in oomparative community studies and ethnographic fieldwork in communities in the U.S., Patagonia, Argentina, Mexico, and Cameroon.

Teaching Diversity for Democracy: The Crossing Borders and Mosaic Programs

Dickinson College is an historically white college, and remains predominantly so. The challenge for us is how to engage primarily white students in meaningful dialogues about diversity, even as we work actively to diversify the student and faculty body.
